QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Masters or doctoral degree in communicative disorders
- Eligible for or holding Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).
- Clinical Fellowship (CFY) candidates are encouraged to apply; supervision available.
- Eligible for school-based licensure/credential required by the state.
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
Preferred:
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
- Experience working with school-aged children.
- Knowledge of special education procedures and IEP development.
- Experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) or assistive technology.

EVALUATOR(S): Building administration and District Special Education Director
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Speech-Language Pathologist provides assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of speech, language, voice, fluency, and communication disorders in students. The SLP collaborates with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support student communication skills and academic success.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Conduct speech and language screenings, evaluations, and re-evaluations for students.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with communication disorders.
- Provide individual and small-group speech and language therapy services.
- Maintain documentation, progress monitoring, and service logs in compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student communication goals.
- Provide consultation and training to school staff regarding communication strategies and accommodations.
- Monitor student progress and adjust therapy plans as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with IDEA, FERPA, and district policies.
- Complete required Medicaid billing and service documentation if applicable.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
MEDICAID BILLING AND COMPLIANCE:
- Stay up to date with Arkansas Medicaid policies and procedural changes to ensure services are provided in accordance with Medicaid guidelines.
- Complete and review documentation to support Medicaid claims
- Assist administrative staff with audits, recoupments, and claim denials.
