POSITION TITLE: High School Teacher (2024-2025) Grades 9-12

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold proper certification through the Arkansas Department of Education

 

REPORTS TO: Building Principal and/or other Supervisor

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 190 days with benefits provided according to Siloam Springs

                                          Board Policies

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  1. Participate in curriculum review and/or design.
  2. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
  3. Implement a variety of evidence based instructional strategies to engage students with the essential learning standards.
  4. Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students. 
  5. Effectively use and analyze data to adjust instruction and/or support student needs.
  6. Adjust instruction within the classroom (Tier 1) to meet the needs of all students, reteaching or extending when needed.
  7. Monitor and assess student progress frequently, using both formative and summative assessments, and provide feedback.
  8. Provide student progress reports as required.
  9. Refer students for alternative services as provided by the District (ESL, Special Education, GT, etc.).
  10. Maintain consistent and timely parent communication using appropriate structures.
  11. Effectively implement district initiatives.
  12. Work collaboratively with the department (PLC) and grade level teachers.
  13. Meet or exceed professional responsibilities and professional behavior expectations.

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  1. Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.
  2. Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
  3. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  4. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
  5. Serve on committees as assigned.
  6. Remain current on instructional practices in education.
  7. Participate in district staff development.
