POSITION TITLE:    Library Media Assistant Southside Elementary

                                                   

FLSA:  Non-exempt

 

REPORTS TO:           Southside Librarian and Administrators

LOCATION:    Southside, Library

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  185-day contract with benefits according to Siloam Springs

          School Board policies.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma
• Bilingual Spanish/English desired but not required.
• Experience working in a professional office setting.
• Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Able to operate personal computer, laptop computer, peripheral computer equipment, photocopier, fax machine, and other office equipment with a high degree of skill.
• Highly motivated with strong organizational skills
• Able to coordinate multiple tasks at one time.
• Self-starter; able to work independently.
• Strong telephone and interpersonal communication skills.

 

JOB DUTIES:

• Run the circulation desk (checking in/out books)
• Assisting patrons in finding proper materials
• Shelving materials
• Keeping the library clean for patrons
• Self-motivated
• Willing to read Young Adult books
• Open minded 
• Fast learner
• VERY good with technology
• Understands confidentiality and library laws when explained
• Trainable
• Ability to manage a room full of teenagers
• Willing to work with teachers in a productive manner
• Flexible
• Organized
• Other duties as assigned
